Set up customer portal

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Settings → Customer Portal

The portal is the self-service page for your customers: they create support tickets there, track their status, and read help articles — without access to your dashboard.

Enable

The Portal enabled switch decides whether the address responds at all. If it is off, every call goes nowhere.

The address

Your portal address is displayed at the top and can be copied with one click. It has the form

<your-identifier>.portal.silentchat.de

The subdomain is automatically generated from the company name. It cannot be changed here — the support team is responsible for this. The reason: the address is in sent emails and in your customers' bookmarks; a change without notice would break both.

Design

  • Portal title — the heading that your customers see
  • Portal logo URL — link to an image file

Both are optional. Without entries, the portal displays a neutral default title.

Visible sections

Two sections can be enabled or disabled individually:

SectionContent
Help CenterYour knowledge base for self-service reading.
TicketsCustomers create and track support tickets.

At least one must remain active. A portal without content would be an empty page with your logo — if you don't want the portal at all, disable it completely at the top.

Before sharing

Call up the address yourself, preferably in a private window. What you see there, your customers see — with the difference that they don't know what it should look like.
