SilentChat

Your profile — name, language, and visibility in chat

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Under Profile you will find the details of your own account. These apply to you personally, not to the client — settings that affect everyone are under Settings.

What You Can Change

  • First name and Last name — this is how you appear in the team and, depending on the setting below, to visitors in the chat.
  • Language — the language of the interface. It only affects you; your colleagues keep their own.

What Is Fixed

  • E-mail address. It is your login credential and therefore read-only on this page. If it needs to change, contact an administrator of your client.
  • Profile picture. It is only displayed here. Uploading is not available in the interface at the moment — without an uploaded picture, SilentChat shows your initials, and they are sufficient for everyday use.

„Show Publicly in Widget“

This switch decides whether visitors see your first name and picture in the chat. It is off by default.

Two switches must be on, not one. In addition to this one, the owner of the client must have enabled Agent Identity in the widget. If either of the two steps is missing, you remain anonymous to visitors.

This is intentional: Neither should a client make its agents visible without asking, nor should a single person show up if the client consciously appears anonymously.

Password, Two-Factor and Logins

These are not here, but under Profile → Security: change password, set up or disable two-factor authentication, and the log of security-relevant events of your account. See the article Two-Factor Authentication.
