Test AI

Before you go live with the AI bot, you can test its responses in the dashboard.

Test function

1. Settings → AI Chatbot → "Test AI"
2. Enter a test message (max. 2000 characters)
3. Click "Test"
4. You will receive:
   • The AI response
   • Input tokens (consumption for the context)
   • Output tokens (consumption for the response)
   • The model used

What is being tested?

• The current system prompt
• The current AI configuration (temperature, max tokens)
• The active provider and model

Not tested: Knowledge Base (RAG), chat history, handoff rules — as there is no conversation context.

Token consumption

Test messages also consume tokens and are counted against your budget. A test typically consumes 200–800 tokens.

Test workflow

1. Write or adjust the system prompt
2. Test 3–5 typical visitor questions
3. Check the answers: Is the tone right? Is the information correct?
4. Adjust and test again
5. Go live when satisfied

Tips

• Test edge cases: What does the bot answer to "Hello"? To complaints? To off-topic questions?
• Test in the language of your visitors
• Compare different temperature values for the same question
